Kalyanji Releases Vatsala’s OLE OLE Album at CBI Party, Box Office, September 9, 1989

CBS Gramophone Records and Tapes (India) held a function at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Bombay on September 8 to release Vatsala’s album of Hindi pop music titled Ole Ole. It was quite a coincidence that the album was released at the hands of Oye Oye (Tridev) fame music director Kalyanji, of the Kalyanji-Anandji duo of composers.

“Drink, dance and experience the redefinition of rhythm,” said the CBS invitation to the function. The pop songs in the album were played and replayed enabling the dancer invitees among the guests to dance to their hearts content. Even Vatsala joined the guests and danced.

With this album Vatsala steps into the world of pop music for the first time. She has already made a mark as a ghazal singer with several ghazal albums to her credit. She was elected the ‘best international woman ghazal singer’ in 1978-79.

Ole Ole contains eight numbers. The lyrics have been composed by Vatsala herself. They have been set to music by Ray Disney in the U.S.A.
